After your hair transplant procedure is complete, you will receive a post-operative package containing various medications and items to aid in your recovery. These may include an antibiotic, mild painkillers, and other materials to make your post-operative healing time as smooth as possible.

Swelling and Healing

Swelling

Painless swelling of the forehead and eyelids may occur in the first 5 days. This is temporary and should subside in 3-4 days.

Numbing Sensation

You may experience a numbing sensation in the donor and recipient area for 2 to 3 weeks after the procedure, which is completely natural and gets better with time.

Healing

Thanks to the small size of the punches used, recovery is typically quick and without significant issues. The donor area will heal within 2-5 days, with short hair growth beginning in the area. The donor area will regain its previous appearance within 2-4 months.

Shedding

Transplanted hairs will start to shed after 2 weeks, and most will shed by the end of the third or fourth week. This is a normal part of the healing process as the old hair shafts are released, while the follicular units remain intact and begin to grow new hair shafts.

Hair Growth Timeline

1-2 Months
During the first couple of months of the hair transplant, also known as the shedding phase, you might experience shook loss where you experience patchy hair loss in the transplanted area, which is completely natural.
2-3 Months
Around this time, new hairs start to reveal themselves, though the density may be thin.
6 Months
You will see visible changes in the look. The density of the hair will progressively increase, with dense hair growth occurring
9 Months
After 9 months of the hair transplant, 60% to 70% of your hair density will be recovered, giving your hair a dense look.
1 Year
By the completion of 1 year of the procedure, you will receive your final results. Almost 100% of your hair will be back in the most natural way possible.

Do’s and Don’ts during the Recovery Period
