Pre-Procedure Preparation

Doctor Consultation (In Clinic or Online)

Your perspective on your hair transplant is important to us. Proper and effective communication will help you feel comfortable and assured. At Folliderm, you have the opportunity to interact directly with your doctor to discuss your desired look and any concerns.

For Residents of Nepal

 Meet your hair transplant doctor before the procedure. During your clinic visit, you can observe a live Direct Hair Transplant (DHT) procedure and speak to our previous clients about their experiences.

For International Clients

We provide information through educational materials via phone, email, WhatsApp, and Viber. However, we advise you to meet your doctor once before the procedure at the clinic.

Travel & Accommodations

For our outstation clients, we have a Travel and Stay Package. Once you decide to undergo a hair transplant with us, our travel desk in charge will assist you with local transportation and hotel arrangements for your stay in Kathmandu.

Finances

To block your procedure date, a 25% advance payment is required, which will be adjusted in your final bill. You can make the payment via bank transfer, cash, cheque, or digital wallets like E-Sewa or Khalti. The remaining balance will be due on the day of your procedure.

Blood Tests

Pre-procedure blood tests are required to ensure your safety and fitness for the surgery. You can conduct these tests at a local lab and send us the reports before your procedure date. Our team will provide details on the required tests during your clinic visit.

Health Problems to Consider

If you have any health problems or are taking medications, please consult your primary physician or dermatologist prior to the hair transplant procedure. During the consultation, inform your consulting doctor about your medical history, any previous surgeries and drug or food allergies to avoid potential complications.

Pre-Procedure Guidelines

Blood-thinning Medication

Avoid blood-thinning medications 5 days before the procedure after consulting your treating physician.

For Residents of Nepal

Continue taking your regular medications for blood pressure, diabetes, or any other prescribed medicines. Consult your doctor if you have any concerns.

Avoid Alcohol and Smoking

Avoid alcohol and smoking for 3 days before your procedure, as they may affect the efficiency of local anesthetics.

Stop Applying Minoxidil

Stop using Minoxidil 5 days before the procedure to prepare your scalp for surgery.

Don't Shave or Trim

Do not shave or trim your scalp or beard within 3 days before the procedure.

Rest

Ensure you get adequate sleep the night before the procedure.

Procedure Day Preparation

Personal Hygiene

Take a shower and maintain personal hygiene on the morning of the operation. Do not use any hair styling products.

Rest and Food

Ensure you are well-rested and have a light breakfast before your procedure.

Clothing

Wear comfortable clothing, preferably a buttoned shirt on the day of the procedure to avoid dragging clothes over your scalp during or after the procedure. Remove any ornaments/ jewelry.

Procedure Time

Expect the procedure to take around 6-8 hours, depending on the number of grafts. If the number of grafts is higher the procedure may take place in 2 days.

Companions

For safety and privacy, companions are not allowed in the procedure room.
